Laminated oak staircase, Wentbridge, S.Yorks

Oak staircase, with laminated strings and handrails. This is a big staircase: 4 ms ground to first floor, 21 treads and 200 spindles. Each spindle is machined individually on a spindle moulder and then inlayed with a composed line. It is self supporting, being fixed with special enchorages only at the start and arrival. The span of the outer string is over 7 ms.
